Wings and Wheels

Greeneville Municipal Airport

The Greeneville Municipal Airport (GCY) hosted their annual Wings and Wheels event with a good turnout of aircraft and aviation fans. There were several active military aircraft on static display in addition to the multitude of civilian aircraft that were on hand for the event. The U.S. Navy flew in a Boeing P-8A Poseidon that looked impressive parked on the ramp. The U.S. Army dropped in with a Boeing CH-47F Chinook and a Sikorsky HH-60M Black Hawk. All three of these aircraft had very active crowds surrounding them the entire day. Neal Melton dropped in with the Tennessee Museum of Aviation’s North American T-28B Trojan for some warbird representation. Other notable aircraft included a 1933 Waco UIC biplane, Flaglor High-Tow Biplane, 1948 Cessna 195, Pipistrel D O O Alpha Trainer, 1966 Cessna 172H, 1967 Cessna 177, Piper J-4A Cub, and a 1946 Aeronca 7 ac Champ.
